Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I see you're a social worker? Do you mind expanding on what you do? Or what population you work with?
How do you feel about seeking some kind of professional help with your feelings? I ask that because you mentioned how they scare you a bit. You could talk to a physician, a therapist (many of whom are social workers!), a psychologist, and/or a psychiatrist. Part of what I enjoy about therapy with my social worker is that when I'm feeling "looney" or need a sanity check, I can describe my feelings to her and she can tell me if they're appropriate or seem kinda weird (obviously, not with those words!).
I look forward to reading other posts form you.
