" Hi hon
I have a friend that is just now getting off of Cymbalta. She said it wasn't helping her depression or her pain so why was she even on it. I have heard that it does cause weight gain, sores in the mouth, among other things. I would encourage you to talk with your doctor about the side effects and also read up on it when they give you the brochure that is ten miles long. Even talk to the pharmacist if you are concerned about it. For some, they find it works wonderfully for them, and for others, not so good. We are all different when it comes to medication so I would do the research and if the doctor has given it to you, then see what happens. I do know one thing for sure, you can't just stop taking it cold turkey like many of the medications. Make sure the doctor explains that to you. I hope you have good luck with it if you choose to try it. "

" My mom takes this..no problems to speak of and it seems to be working well for her. But as said before, all meds act differently with each person. "

" I've been on Cymbalta for 2-3 years. No it didn't make me gain weight, I've actually lost 65 pounds while on it. I have to switch meds because I'm getting divorced soon and will no longer have insurance to pay for meds. It costs $411 dollars a month w/out insurance! So I'm bummed to be going off it. "

" I was just switched to Cymbalta from Viibryd. I was suicidal on Viibryd. That was the worst nine or so months of my life! Cymbalta is a Godsend. But I guess that would only be comparing it to Viibryd, so of course it is. I've had some weight gain but I eat like a pig, so, what can I expect??!! "
