Depresssed about turning 24

My birthday is tomorrow and I am not happy about it at all. I feel like I haven't even come close to enjoying my 18th-23rd years the way most people do and I feel like I am not at the same "life stage" as people my age. When I see 20-21 year olds, I feel like I can relate to them like they are my age. I am nowhere near the point where I will look at 20 year old girls and think "oh they're too young for me, they're just kids".

I think I would give almost anything to be 21 or 22 again. I really feel like I'm over the hill.

" Having to lie about my age would depress me more. I would like to think I'm still at the age which is more desirable. Because if I'm not, then I missed out. "

" Thanks for the birthday wishes, but I am pretty depressed. I'll probably try to fake being happy for my family's sake, but this is a sad occasion for me. "

" I've been depressed and I haven't really gotten into anything or defined myself yet, but I feel like it's too late now. I feel like everyone is who they are by now. I just never thought I'd be past the peek without making the most of it. I really hate myself now. "

" You honestly think that what defines a person is established and cultivated by 24 years of age?

Um, there is a reason you have to be at least 35 years old to be president of the United States.

And if you think it's too late, then you are probably right. You seem hell bent on misery.

Good Luck. "

" From what I've been reading, even in terms of physical abilities it's down hill. I have been wanting to get back into martial arts and be serious about it, but I'm reading on forums people asking questions about if it's too old to start doing stuff like that at 24. I really feel like there is nothing left in life but stuff I don't want. "

" As human beings, we are always changing and growing and evolving. We never "arrive," at ANY age in this life.
You can ALWAYS make a decision to change who you are and what you are doing at any time.
I find myself a bit irritated, ameer, because no matter what anyone says to you, you argue against and counter absolutely everything and have not done anything to make your life better. You just feel sorry for yourself and that does nothing but bring you down further. How long do you plan on bemoaning your life instead of living it?
You act as though you are 75 years old. And even if you WERE, life is still not over.
Why not plan on having a good day tomorrow instead of already dooming yourself as a failure at life?
Stop talking and LIVE. Ask someone out for a cup of coffee. A sandwich. ANYTHING at all.
I have been bedridden for a long time and have lost many things. It hurts me to see someone who has so much going for him to be pissing it away by moaning at life instead of living it. What I wouldn't give to have strength in my body or to be in the position where I am around people that I had the chance to get to know.
You are the only one who has the power to change things. Stop complaining about life and do something about it to make it a better one for yourself.
I wish you well and pray that you experience peace on your birthday tomorrow.
Huggggssss to you. "
