okay, so if you have a weak moment and have unprotected sex, cause after all it's been 3 years, and you try to make an appointment with the doctor to just be safe, with some amount of privacy, why the hell do they need you to yell it into the phone??????? I really need to get a different doctor.

" I don't blame you for being mad. Maybe they should get a receptionist that isn't deaf. "

" I remember being 19, waiting in my GP's surgery as I had a chest infection. The receptionist said ....."Pregnancy test result? ....... Yes....... What was the name? ............ Elanor O'Mally............... OK dear.............. It's positive.. " I was in the same nursing set as her, and to turn up to lectures the next day and not look at her tummy was torture. Receptionists should be trained, regularly!!!! I don't think you're being unreasonable. "

" At the clinic I go to they have a special section for the STD test. Across the room are the flu shots, TB time test, and down the hall are the pregnant girls. Everyone knows what each section is for. It makes me laugh because when i go to sit over there, those there look at me like They understand...even if the flu/TB shots seem to giggle sometime. That is something positive: I've never gotten a nasty look from anyone when I go to sit over there. I test every six months and when I think I had a cut in my mouth (blush). "

" I have had a few unpleasant experiences when I call my doctor.

Not from the DOCTOR, but from the receptionist who takes my calls.

She can be horribly rude at times. I know her name so when she is the one who is working the day I call, I brace myself for her nastiness.

I really like my doctor so I guess I just have to
tolerate "Little Miss Grouchy Pants" :-) "

" yeah, I hate it when you are the waiting room trying to see the doctor and the receptionist ask why you are there. "

" Our receptionists have a framed picture on their desk which reads; "Please be nice to receptionists!". Every time I see it I want to pick it up and wing it the length of the waiting room. "

" Sadly even with training you can't give people common sense! The lady I babysit for was having very serious "female" problems, her period just wouldn't stop. She called the specialist to see if there were any cancellations so that she could get in sooner. The receptionist was very rude and told her "what do you think you're the ONLY person waiting"?, she said to her "I am desperate, I am about to jump off a bridge I am in so much pain" to which the receptionist replied "well I hope you'd make a better choice than that". That night a woman in our city jumped off the bridge! We have both wondered what that receptionist thought about when she heard that. I often wonder how they would feel if they were the ones having their private issues announced like that. "

" I think it's a worldwide problem, with receptionists at Dr's Surgeries!!! Very little common sense and empathy on view...Bunch of little hitler's if you ask me..The one at my local surgery, would give satan a run for his money!!!

lol..@ juice...I thought you were going to wrap that frame around that receptionists face, for a moment there.. :-) "
