Hello Everyone! Today I started new dosage on Effexor XR. Went from 112.5mg to 150mg. I was feeling good on 112.5mg, but my doc says time for me to go up to 150mg. I feel okay, but kinda groggy. I was just wondering if anyone feel any differently when you taking dosage higher then necessary? Thank you!

" Hi Jim I was on 300mg and did not feel groggy from the venlafaxine, but meds do effect people in diffrent ways in fact I could not sleep! Give your body 4 weeks to get used to the new level, if you are having probs go and see your doc. "

" did your doc tell you why you had to go higher? I was fine and refused any higher dose....I told the doctor who protested my refusal...that "I was nuts and feared taking more meds!!!" She laughed and sent me on my way smiling.

If you are feeling fine on the lower dose then the heck with what the docs say. UNLESS that is you are still having symptoms. "

" I had at one time been on 300mg of Effexor and there were no side affects , actually it was no different than a lower dose. Meds work differently for everyone . It is good to use others experiences as a guide line , but do what you need to do . "

" Hi everyone, I take Effexor ER 150 mgs at night. I am so glad I read this. I yawn all the time. It started to worry me. I have been on this medicine for a year. I feel numb and even all the time. I can't cry anymore. Sometimes I wish I could cry. It's there on the inside and I can't get it out. I have thought about stoping the Effexor but am afraid to. It really has helped me. I also take Lexapro in the day time. Peggy "

" THe difference for me has been my anxiety started to decrease some of the time. I am now at 225mg, but still have a lot of anxiety.
My pdoc figures I'll need 300mg to help with my level of anxiety.
With each increase dosage I do not notice any side effects. "
