What Should I do ????

Off and On, (all of my life), I have suffered Depression/Anxiety - (Mental Illness) and I am really struggling now (it has crept into everyday life and is effecting it quite a bit) and I have made numerous attempts to get back onto Medication(as it has helped before) by going to my GP however, I have been unsuccessful and I'm ashamed of keep asking for help as I have a Family Member who has severe Mental Illness and has OD'd numerous times (when they were unwell)who goes to the same Doctor in a very small town.
I am completely miserable however, I don't want to keep wasting people's time let alone feel this way, as I am uncomfortable speaking about it...
I just don't know what to do..... Does anyone have any ideas ???

" you're not your family member. Despite kiving in a small town your gp is a professional and should treat each case as it comes to him. There is nothing to be ashamed about in asking for help. Everybody needs it sometimes. I hope you feel better! "

" Maybe you should see a different doctor. Try a specialist. Don't be afraid of your mental illness. More people have them than you may realize.
Depression becomes a habit. Feed yourself positive thoughts. "

" There are so many other ways to end a life other than OD'ing. Don't deprive yourself of a life line because you feel the doctor may be reluctant to give you something that can help you feel well enough, not to find yourself seriously wanting to do these things. If someone jumps in a river to end it, has second thoughts, do you not throw them a rope because it could be used to hang themselves, or allow them the chance to grab on and be saved? "

" You are absolutely NOT wasting anyone's time. I was just getting ready to go off line until I saw your post, so know that people care, okay? Can you change doctors? Or hopefully get your doctor to understand exactly what you are going through? In the meantime, we are here for you, and you are NEVER wasting anyone's time!! "
