This is the list they gave me in the hospital the first time I went. They are all alternatives to cutting. There are ALOT of them, not all of them will work but at least one should.

" What does drawing red lines on your wrist do to help? I'm now a cutter so I'm truly curious to how that would help. "

" I think drawing a red line on your wrist is supposed to remind you not to cut. Like when you have an urge to do so, you take something sharp, look at your wrist, but the first thing you see is that red line. It's like an automatic instinct tells you NOT to cut. I suggest listening to that instinct and resist cutting, no matter how strong it is.

It's never healthy to cut only to see blood. You're causing more harm than you realize by doing that. You've gotta try to stop and use what's suggested in that list above. Be sure to let it work too. And don't just try it once and move to the next one. Try them all more than twice, and hope with all your might that each one might work.

These things on the list are definitely worth a try. Even if it's to pass the time, they still work but you don't realize it. If you don't cut while you do these suggestions, then you're doing good.

Remember, even if these things don't really work out for you at first, try again. You do great if it works for you, and you do just as good if it doesn't, because you've made an attempt to try and stop cutting. All in all, I think these suggestions are great. ^_^ "

" I used to cut to have control over my life. The only thing that helped right away was the rubber band. It hurts when you pull it back and snap it then it leaves a red mark on your arm where you snapped it. I also write to Hayden when I get upset of him. "

" I've actually found that sitting on something and saying to yourself that the "couch is blue" or something like that really helps. It reminds you of where you are in the world, and that everything around you is real. Especially when you find something positive, like start out saying colors or something like that then add I really like the song that's playing or I really want something to eat. I've found that feeling something other than depression or other than not feeling anything at all really reminds you that there other things around you that are positive. "
