It has been two years since having my braces removed and I still have a fear of my teeth getting crooked again. Does anyone else worry about that?

" Hi sweetie. The most important thing to do is wear your retainers the orthodontists will give you after completion of your treatment. This is so very important. Most orthodontists will cement a lingual bar to the back of your bottom teeth to keep everything in place. Wear your top retainer always.
Always, Moon "

" Yes that is right wearing your retainer is so important and it should come with your treatment of your braces.
I wore my retainer for 1 year straight at all times except for eating.
After the first year you are able to wear them only at night.
I know a lot of people who did not do that and wore them only at night but what happens is that you get to the point were a tooth or two with start to move. I know it sounds crazy but if you don't wear them always at first for the first year your teeth will start to do their own thing again.
I worry about my teeth going the wrong way again but so far they are exactly the same as when they were fixed.
But I have to admit they could have been better but for me it was a case of too many teeth for too small a mouth.
I also have those ridges on my teeth still even in my 30s I don't get it. "

" we recommend a retainer for life. the more crowded your teeth were before and the older you were when you started, the more likely the will crowd again over time. Plus, teeth naturally crowd as we age "
