We post a lot about the psych and mind symptoms but I want to talk about psychical symptoms.

For example:

I have noticed that my husband's hands have started to have tremors. Also he seems very temperature sensitive, he is always colder or hotter than anyone else. Right now I am in a t-shirt and he has on a sweat shirt and a light jacket. His sense of taste is changed- things that he used like and find tasty don't taste the same to him.

Just wondering if others have noticed changes like this....his neuro says it is normal.

" Yes, I have the same problems with my body. I've begun to tremble sometimes over the last 12 months. Extreme temp sensitivity for several years. Taste only recently being affected and figured that was just an aging thing. "

" Same thing with my husband. He always complained I didn't use enough cooking spices and now he doesn't want any spices. He was always too warm & now it's too cold. I thought it was his poor circulation; maybe a little of both age & dementia. He also doesn't understand the concept of keeping the door shut when it is 40 degrees outside. DelS "

" DelS - Maybe he forgets to close the door. I do that all the time too. In fact, just one night last week I found our back door open (about 40 degrees) and was worried that someone had entered the house. No one else was awake and couldn't have done it. I guess I left it open the last time I went out. Was worried more that my brain had clicked off and I'd gone for a walk. Just don't know. Weird. "

" Even though mom is still leveled with her Alzheimers. She still has her swings of (senses). Physical & Taste. (Mostly Cold) Having both types of blankets; and Jackets, socks available is common.

Keeping a book, to write short journal entries, helps to validate her doubts and helps our communication. I have lamenated reminders in certain areas, as reminders. She may have felt offended at first - but has found this has helped her anxieties.

Trial and error, but got to have trials to have successes - even if temporary, until the next one. Good luck! lol "

" I also write things, but on this computer on WORD. I can organize my thoughts better and make them more coherent to others. I write, then read, then move things around to help make better sense, then re-read. Then I hope it makes sense to others (smile). I tried keeping a journal in my computer but forget about it since it is not IN MY FACE and I rarely even notice the icon on my desktop. I finally stopped working it. "

" I do not enjoy food the way I used to. It may because of the disease and also may have something to do with dealing with depression. I have no idea. I am not having any significant tempeture changes other than we all have as we get older. My Dad (85) is sitting her in a room that is 72 degrees and has all kind of extra clothes on, I have a swet shirt and shorts on, it is suppose to be 65 outside today and I am looking forward to getting out and get some things done wearing shorts and T shirt. So I think that part of me is normal for my age. But the food thing I totally agree with God Bless Phil & Flops "

" I've just become clumsier than usual, not that I was ever a ballerina. I have a recurrence of balance problems that I only had when I had a brain tumor which has been in remission for 8 yrs now. Drs say that's not the problem. Memory is a frustration for me. Sometimes, I don't even like spending time with me when I'm ditzy so I can understand how my husband feels...poor guy.
My best diversions are doing crafts and reading. Dr says I can't drive and that's made me more depressed! Have never been warm enuf and I live in FL.
So.....hang in there. We're all in this together! "

" My husband's taste in foods has changed so much. For 6 months all he would eat was breakfast and M&M's. When he put on 20 lbs in 1 month he decided to change his diet. Now he only eats Taco soup. 3Xs a day, every day for 6 weeks now. YUK! but at least he his eating. As far as the temp sesitivity, I've noticed in the past 3 months he has become more so. He uses a blanket a lot, it's 100 degrees outside but I have the a/c turned down to 75. "

" Have just joined this group. Was surprised to hear of physical sym. I was dx with Parkinson's (PD) in Jan. suspected it for 10 yrs. So I tremor but for another reason. I was also surprised that mental decline goes with PD. My husband has had essential tremors which have worsened over the last 30 yrs but he is getting "new" ones and maybe this is the cause. We are both 63. As far as temp. I experience that a lot. Thanks for all your info. "
