Since she developed vascular demential, Mum's been pretty bossy with me. My parents live 100+ miles away and it's been getting to me to such an extent I've had to see a counsellor to get things off my chest. My question is should I let my Mum boss me around or should I put my foot down, ignore her and lead my own life? I'm just wondering whether others have had similar experiences. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

" Read your profile, and as independent as you are, you have your limitations. To have lived and transition with your disability is commendable.

Your mother is now afflicted, and will be going through the signs of her own disabilities. The best is awareness of any disability, and being prepared.

NO, no one can control you. As, you have that power. Our emotions & minds may have conflict, and this is where we either put our strength; faith; support; etc. to not let go -- (crazy).

As much as you love & care, you may guide them to support near them. You know, (as for yourself), with age & limitations for all you - what we must be ready to deal with.

Be ready to deal with health; medical; financial; legal; personal planning; etc. - knowing & getting info. helps. Lots of websites also available for info. It helps ... and good luck on your own well being! Take Care! "
