Hello to all. I am new to this site. In May I will undergo a cervical fusion. I've had this disease for some yrs. But now it has progressed to the point that meds no longer help. This neck surg. is the beginning of 4 more surgies due to this disease.. Does anyone about cervical surgery? Thanks for reading and hope I can be of help to others here.

My daughter had surgical fusion 2 years ago. She did very well. She also had back stabalization with a titanium rod from T2-L3. That one was much harder. How long have you been sufferring. My daughter is on disabiity for about 6 years now through Social Security. It's not easy but she is happy she is still walking and that was questionable for a while. Hugs and prayers to you, Sharon

It is really hard for any one person to give you advice on any kind of surgery, degenerative bone disease is usually hereditery. I have it, my mother has it, my oldest sister has it...
I have 2 bulging discs in my neck, I have arthritis in my back, now having problems with my legs... My mother had the surgery on her neck and has never had a bit of pain since, my sister had the surgery and is worse off now than before the surgery, I have not opted for the surgery just yet, I have been kid of afraid to go for it. I am preparing to get over my fear and go ahead with the surgery, I am at the point now that I am on so many medications just to get through the day. One being methadone. The pain causes me to suffer from depression, so I could go on and on here... I was a retail store manager for many years and looking back now, I know that my job began my down hill sprial as far as my health is concerned. I was doing things physically I had no business doing, but made the mistake of not putting two and two together when I would leave work in horrible pain... I should have filled out incident reports. I didn't and now here I am on my own. I hope all goes well with you and your surgery. I do know what your are going through, how does the saying go?? " I feel your pain"... literally!!!
