My employer has informed me that if I decide to have my scheduled back surgery, I won't receive a paycheck. We are only allowed 7 sick days per year and after that, no more salary. Guess I'll just suffer thru it.

" What is more important, your back or your job? Jobs come and go but you only have one back. Employers are sometimes the most arrogant, snotty, holier-than-thou people in the world. They have no concept of the pains you endure just to be at that job, all the while getting worse from sitting in front of a computer screen 8 hours each day. "

" This may be the wrong way to look at it. But I feel your personal comfort and health is more important then your job, Does your employer have the Family medicial leave act!!! My mom always told me if you dont take care of yourself who will!!! I understand that money doesn't grow on trees but its try to take care of this now or wait and it may not be able to be fixed ? "

" You need to make the choice that is right for YOU. If that means keeping your job, then that is the right choice for you.

I know a lot of people who were in as much or more pain after surgery. I have scar tissue from every surgery that frequently causes more pain than the original.

There are times when surgery is the only option like when an appendix has gone bad. But relieveing pain in the back is not a guarantee.

Good Luck with your decision. KNow that only you can decide what is right for you. "
