Hi! I have suffered with ddd since 8 years ago. I am almost 28 now and i also suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome, insulin resistance, tendonitis and slipped discs. Since i have been insulin resistant i have gained some weight. I am having more pain in my back now that i am carrying this extra weight. I have never been overweight before so my back is straining a lot now. What can i do for the pain? My Dr. gives my muscle relaxers, vicodin, and anti inflammatories. The pills are few and far between. Im just not sure what else to do! I use a heating pad, i use a gel ice pack, i have tried physical therapy, shock therapy, exercise, etc.. HELP please!! What am i not doing?? What can i try?
Thank you!!

" I don't know if it will help you or not, but my chiropractor has been doing needleless acupuncture on me for 3 weeks now and it seems to be helping because I can walk a little better than I was before. I am also in less pain most of the time. "

" i have had a lot of problems with pain pills ...is most of your pain located in one area...I went on pain patches...where it localizes to that area only...It is true though alot of the meds give you weight gain which makes the pain worse...good luck sweetie..I hope you find something that works for you...hugs "

" Do you have a pain management Dr? I have one... and she is always searching for things to ease the pain without drugs.

I have had great luck with cortisone shots too.... some people hate them but I do great with them. I take Naproxen Sodium and nerve blockers....

I still have bad days.... but I think that comes with all of this......
I hope you feel better soon "

" i have suffered with chronic pain for almost 20 years now, It gets worse with the years. I have a wonderful pain dr. it takes lots of different meds and thearpy to find a combination that might work well for you. Then when you do find something enjoy it cause your body will eventually build up a tolerance to it and you will be back to trying new combinations etc. i have tried pretty much everything, pills accupucture, pt.,aqua therapy you name it i have tried it also had couple of surgeries and all the injections. You must have a wonderful understanding pain dr. and a wupport system for yourself. I wish you all the best and hope you find some relief. "
