I was diagnoised with my DVT September gone its the full lengh of my leg into my groin and Pelvis.

The only reason the doctor found my PE (clots in my lungs) was by me persistently asking for a CT scan, I think they did the test just to shut me up. I was told I had pneumonia. I had chest pains that morphine did not even control. The doctor figured that the CT scan was a waste of time and money, but guess what, I have at least 3 clots in my lungs. Someone else on this group posted that of the 300,000 people who die each year from PE, only 7% were diagnosed correctly. It took 3 weeks to get my diagnosis. If I hadn't been pushy, I could have gotten much worse, or possibly died. I think if you are having chest pains so bad you can't breathe, you should have a CT scan. Good Luck!

Hi ladystaria,
You are probably right. I would love to have a CT scan to at least put my mind at rest but the DR at A&E said It was unlikey I have a clot and If I did have one the treatment would be the same,Warfarin. I still have the pain today but its not servere, Im resting a lot because I cant do much else. I just keep poping the pain killers. Maggie x
