Does anyone know once diagnoised with DVT, what is the norm of DVT turning into PE?

" I'm no doc, but I will tell you what my pulmonologist told me when I was diagnosed with DVT. He said there was still a small chance (1-2%) that I would develop PE after treatment started, but he had never had a patient die from PE once anti-coagulated treatment started, in over 15 years of practice.

I read a stat online that said 3% of the time untreated DVT results in fatal PE. Since anti-coagulants greatly reduces the chances of embolism, the chance for fatal PE would be far less than 3%. "
