Hey Everyone,
I currently have a nasty stomach flu. I went to the nurse on campus today and she suggested that I take pepto bismol. I searched it on the internet and it says that it should be avoided in high doses while on warfarin. Anyone else ever hear of this? I'm under the impression that it is okay to take now and then, just not often.

" malox sp? is what the dr recommended i take and what i do take without inr flux. If you can take it a few hrs after dose it is even better. I was told to shy away from pepto also.
Be well

" I'm new to warfarin myself.I always ask my pharmasist about drug interactions with warfarin and over-the-counter medication. He told me that coumadin in particular and warfarin in general interacts with everything under the sun, including the sun too. Most are ok for occasional use I think.Asking a pharmasist is a good place to start.

Take care and feel better soon
