Not to be a debbie downer, but does anyone know the statistics on survival rate after a dvt or pe. what are the %'s of getting it again if you have blood disorder vs not having a blooding disorder? I cant really get a clear picture from i have been reading on the net. I dont have a blood disorder and just wondering what my chances are of getting it again.

" RMB, you are on it! Great link!

I would add this note: Be wary of the D-Dimer test. Mine was always negative even though I had a huge clot (etiology = sports accident + predisposition from immune disorder).

My uninformed hunch is, if your D-Dimer was never positive, don't reply on it much.
