Ok sorry if you guys are sick of me, haha...I was just wondering something. Ever since I've been off Warfarin I have noticed that my legs swell more. I am due to get new stocking soon (used a new brand these past few months called Mederma, fancy stockings but I like Jobst better) so I don't know if it's just coincidence or if it's because I am not on the Warfarin anymore. My left DVT leg even gets a bit red, from foot to hip. Has anyone else off Warfarin noticed this? Should I tell my doc?
The vein surgeon said to take a baby aspirin everyday to help keep the blood moving freer, but this doesn't make sense to me...I know that aspirin will help keep platelets from sticking together but how does it keep the blood flow better? Even still, it's what I have been doing. What I have been doing to combat the swelling is ridiculous, but it works. I lay in bed with my legs straight up in the air for as long as I can possibly do it, then keep it on a pillow until I go to sleep. Lol. I am so crazy. Posted on 10/26/09, 12:10 pm |

Define "Normal" ...
I don't think there are guidelines for us folks, from one person to another it's all different. We are unique. I think the only similarity is that we had a clot and it ends there. Not everybody has had PE, nor has genetic deffects, some of us are idiopathic, some of us have PTS and some of us just had a clot. You are not crazy, what I'm trying to say is, if it works for YOU, then carry on doing it. The other thing, if I can speak for everybody, "We are not sick of you". :)

I still have pain? jokeing aside what makes me crazy is trying to find out what is normal. Like Dero said we are all different and your not crazy. Take care of your self and keep pushing foward!

It never hurts to tell your doctor about issues that you have based on what has happened to you. Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you are scared about something going on with your body then tell him/her
