Advice:
DVT WITH BROKEN FOOT

I have a spiral break to my 4th Metatarsal( left foot) and a huge clot running from my grion all the way down my leg.
Ive had a broken foot for 4.5months now and I have had my DVT for 4 wks.
Since I broke my foot my consultant said to me on numerous occasions that he would operate, He's told me now I have DVT he cant operate until the clots dispersed.
To be honest I'm angry, surely if he operated in the first place I probably wouldn't be in this mess.
Since may Ive been to hospital 4 times with pain and swelling in my calf and sent home with pain killers. But 4 weeks a go my whole leg swelled from my toes to my grion at least 3 times its normal size I couldn't even bend my leg.I was in so much pain. Finaly I demanded a blood test but had to go back next day for my Doppler text. I was admitted straight away for 8 days because of complications.
I'm feeling very frustrated and cant move my leg normally, does anyone know when I can at least move my leg with out any pain?

" It mostly depends on each individual case. For my first DVT, it was at least 3 weeks before most of the pain subsided. But my DVT was in my left calf. And I and others in this group can sympathize with you on the pain. Mine brought me to tears trying to move my leg after resting for awhile with my feet up until it let up and was left with just swelling if I don't wear my compression stocking regularly. But each DVT case isn't the same as anyone else's. Unfortunately, you'll have to bear with it. "

" I am so sorry you are going through this, I know exactly how you feel, I broke my ankle and then suffered a severe DTV and PE. I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I am afraid to say in my case 2 months later i am still suffering pain in my DVT leg i am walking again which is a achievement. Although mine was a severe case and the PE has just made all my problems a lot worse, and i suspect is the worst case possible. I hope you are feeling better soon. "
