Sorry I just have so many questions since this is the second time in year and a half that a endo (different endos) have been concerned about possible cushing's syndrome. Its driving me nuts and its all I can think about. please help me if you can. I so appreciate anyone who is willing! Is it possible to have cushing's with blood wk showing consistently high levels of cortisol starting at 24 and increasing over the last yr and a half to 32.2 BUT 24hr urine normal(a yr and a half ago when level was 24) ? I already had a CT of pituitary gland 1.5 years ago when my cortisol was at 24 and they did'nt find any tumors. Is there any thing in your blood work that would show up to point to tumor elsewhere such as adrenal? Has anyone been diagnosed with cushing's but had normal 24hr urine?
recently my triglycerides have been high but I eat very clean and my good cholesterol is low, bad cholesterol is high. Sodium serum is low, potassium and Chloride, Serums are also low. The weight gain is crazy! I never gain more than a few lbs 10 max but in last few months I've gain 25lbs and my water retention and buffalo hum and fat face are making me depressed. I don't even recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. i hate this waiting and worrying. This is labs from yr and a half ago. Cortisol,F,ug/L,U 12 Undefined ug/L Cortisol,F,ug/24hr,U 29 0-50 ug/24 hr I don't know what to think and don't want to go thru expensive testing if this is not cushing's. Ugh just so frustrated...... I feel your pain, since I am going through a lot of those symptoms. I am a well known athlete, so this has been very difficult. It does not appear from the results that you have Cushings. have you checked you Hgh levels. Acromegaly is very similar to Cushings. At first my doctor thought I had Acromegaly, but I begged him to check my Cortisol as well.
The mineral imbalance, brittle bones all go with Cushings, so I understand you frustration. My Cortisol was 3x the normal value. Keep asking questions. The answers are coming, Hugz for you!
