Hello, I have some questions

Hello, I'm a 42 year old married mom of 2 children, and I have been desperately trying to find out what's wrong with me. I have had a huge mass located right on my collar bone, and I hadn't had anything done about it, because an assistant doctor, or PA told me that it was just a fatty tumor, even though I never had a biopsy on it. She assured me that, that's all it was, so I believed her, and went on about with my life. Well over the years I've been having things going on with my health. I have been having muscle and joint pain. I got sudden acne on my face. My face looks swollen all the time now, plus I've had weight issues. My blood sugar drops real low, and I can't miss meals because of that. I also have high blood pressure. My sister had an issue with cortisol being a problem for her, but it wasn't Cushing's syndrome as far as I know. Oh, and I have had issues with my cycle being all messed up. I never know when I'm going to get it, and sometimes I can go months without having a period. Oh, and I have bad anxiety at times too.
Anyhow, I read online that this can be a result of Cushing's Syndrome. It just seems to coincidental with the symptoms I have been having. In recent years though now, I'm having all kinds of neurological problems that resemble possible MS to boot. I couldn't find anything online about Cushing's syndrome and MS type symptoms, so I'm guessing it may be a whole separate issue going on. I have become concerned about what's going on, because my legs keep going really wobbly, and I have been falling. Posted on 04/18/11, 05:46 pm |

Most people that have been dx with cushings, myself included first noticed a huge weight gain no matter how much you diet and exercise, mainly in face and stomach and stretch marks, I had just about every sign and symptom for this illness. I think I had it about 5 or 6 years before I was dx. And by that time it had became life threatening for me

The problem is, that it is really hard to diagnose Cushing's Disease. I had every symptom on the internet (except male infertility) but the "random" tests that doctors ask for are not necessarily going to recognize Cushing's. Insist on a 24 cortisol level test!

Have you been on the www.cushings-help.com website? It's huge, and has tons of info about Cushings. What is it, how to get diagnosed, the surgery, doctor/surgeon referrals, etc, etc..... I found it very helpful when I was sick and didn't know why. Best of luck.
