" Technically, it takes a colonoscopy to see that the IBD is completely inactive. I'm told, even though someone is in clinical remission, you can still tell by the colonoscopy that the person has inactive Crohn's or UC.

That being said, I consider myself to be in remission when I have zero symptoms and nothing that I eat causes any symptoms... for a long time, maybe a month. "

" Well the scope 3 weeks ago show active Crohn's and UC. At least I'm not bleeding. There are a lot of retail jobs opening up for the holidays and I could REALLY use the money, but I'm still afraid to try:( "

" For me, if my inflammation markers are normal and I feel well and have no clinical symptoms for a few months, I consider that remission. "

" So, does remission occur when you are on drugs, or not on drugs? I'm taking steroid enemas right now and they are helping immensely (I'm not eating as well as I should because they work so well) and 8 pills of asacol a day. I feel great and am having 1-2 solids a day...does this qualify? "
