Hi currently involved in a trial to see if patients who have had surgery take 6mp to keep the crohns away ..
Problem being this is making me feel so sick nausea is terrible tiredness to the point of ending the day crying in my bed as i feel so exhausted . Well this weekend it came to a head i felt so ill i couldnt drink water never mind eat food it was terrible . Since my hubby is currently serving in Afghan and i have a daughter and pets to look after i didnt take my meds yesterday at all . From 5pm yesterday i had to take my self to bed and didnt wake till 8-30 this morning and that is only cause the dogs were needing to go out so they woke me ... I still feel a little sick but nothing like yesterday i have not taken my meds again today and i am not planning to at the moment . Anyone had this problem on these pills i cant go through life feeling like that i work full time and have responsibilitys at home !! Posted on 11/08/09, 08:11 am |

I think that you should call your Dr or the person in charge of the trial. You may need to wean off 6mp (ididn't because it put me in the hospital and shut down my liver) You probably need something for maintanence.

Wow, sorry to read you are going thru so much, I would sure be stopping that med, you can't continue like that. Is your daughter old enough to look after herself? Any family/friends/work mates who can help you while you are feeling this bad? I agree with Fraz, the Dr needs to know how badly you are feeling. Hugs, Wendy

This happened to me, I was on 6mp and I was so exhausted. I couldnt eat anything. My doctor told me everything was fine. I went to a Hematology doctor and he said that my bone marrow stopped making red blood cells. my red count was 7.5 and my white was 900 they rushed me to the hospital and took me off the pills right away. If I didnt react fast enough I wouldnt be here. Please get your blood tested. Go to another doctor if you have to.6mp is a cemo drug. It can be great and it can hurt your body real bad. Listen to your body!!! It is tring to tell you something. Im on Humira now and it took about a year but Im feeling great! your in my thoughts. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with the 6MP. I have been staying well on it for a couple of years now. They did have to lower my dosage about 6 months ago, though, as my white cell count had gotten too low. They only put me on 6MP because I couldn't take Imuran (fever, chills, vomiting, muscle cramps). I hope your doctors can find something that works for you.
