Yelling at bananas

Ok, a prednisone story.
How sick am I of bananas and avocados?!

This steroid rage has really messed with my moods and sanity. I was sooo worked up yesterday morning, and in such a foul mood, I found myself standing in the kitchen, adressing (quite loudly) the bunch of bananas in the fruit bowl, telling them how *sick* I was of them and why couldn't they be a nice bowl of strawberries or something.

I wonder if there are many others who would understand that sometimes, just sometimes, yelling at bananas is a good thing.

Life is absurd.

" hehe yell at bananas!!
I have a pred story too... When I was on IV steroids, I went a bit nuts.......It was the same time as the 'salmon song' by the chemical brothers was out and I kept hearing it in my head and saw all these fish swimming past my face....I was lying in my hospital bed seeing fish! good times...I lost it at the nurse (yelling and screaming) when she told me they weren't real....when I eventually got back home my bf got me fish which I named after my meds!haha "

" After weeks and weeks on the most disgusting liquid feed, watching everyone else tuck into their fish and chips or curries, I found myself at three o clock one morning, kneeling in front of the fridge, cramming cream gateau into my face, cream around my hair, down my chest, on the floor.......
You probably saw how cross I got about that "Do you REALLY want to be well post"? That's what this kind of illness can do to you. No-one knows the weird things you find yourself doing until you've lived on parsnips and nothing but parsnips for a month!!!! lol "

" Shall I tell you about my yarn-flinging incident? I got so cranky after about the third time I had to rip out a row of stitches, I ended up throwing the yarn, then the needles, then the pattern book across the room. The dog (an eighty-pound shepherd/collie cross) ended up crawling up into my lap and glaring at my husband because she thought he must have done something to make me mad. Anyway, it was impossible not to laugh at that point. By the way, bananas make me gag at the best of times. "

" Oh yes this does sound familiar. My son (now 20) was on Pred. for 18 months and it was not a good thing. He was a jekyl/hyde personality for sure. At one of his last dr. appt. the GI recommended Pred again for him and we were all like NO! GI understood and said that a mother recently said NO for Pred to her son because it made him weird. Dr. was like how and she said "He barks". So ok we know Pred makes you nuts.

I personally yell at a lot of food when I go grocery shopping because my daughter has to be Gluten free. And sometimes I pick up a perfectly innocent looking product thinking it is gluten free and it isn't and I will throw the package down, walk away, yelling to myself the whole time. I am sure people think that I am nuts. But having to watch what you eat so closely can really push you over the edge sometimes.

Hopefully things will get better. "

" I can't even use steroids as an excuse! I haven't yelled at my banana's (yet) but I did, like suey2y have a binging episode last weekend that left the pantry and refrigerator almost empty! After a month of watching everyone in the house eating what ever the hell they wanted I just snapped. Not that I hadn't already shed many tears! The poor dog knows how I feel just a little too well sometimes, he is the easiest target when I need to yell "
