" Hubby uses them as well as Metamucil as the latter bulks up runny stool. We get the imodian in bottles of 100! "

" I have severe crohns and with no illeosequal valve I have mad dashes to the bathroom as well. My doctor has had me on Lomotil for quite sometime which does help to slow the bowels down a bit s the trips to the BR aren't quite so frequent. Imodium does work well too bur she gave me the prescription as I have to take it a couple times a day and it was covered by my insurance.
Hope this helps and good luck "

" I take lomotil when needed in the morning and imodium after noon or evening. They both help, but not a cure. "

" Does immodium make anyone sick 1-2 days after? It always helps at first but then I get really bad pain a day or 2 after. "

" Hi,

My dr. said I can take up to 8 imodium a day if necessary. I never did, but before this flare was under control I was taking 2 in the am, 2 in the mid day and one around 6 (so I could still make movements, the thought of being totally stopped up freaked me out). That worked well. I felt a bit bloated, but little/no pain and was able to function pretty well for work/exercise etc.

I hope this helps. "

" I took Immodium for while and then I found out that I didn't just have IBS. It was confirmed to be Crohn's and now I take Lialada (3 per day) and Lomitil ( usually 1, 2 at most per day). Together they work great. "

" From what I've heard, immodium is tricky. It works well for some and not for others.

When I am in a flare, it's what keeps me going. It just slows the frequency. When my flare was really bad, I would take two in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one at night. They work really well for me.

I have heard some horror stories on here though, so you just have to be careful. Take it and see how it works, if you have no side effects then you are one of the lucky ones. "
