My GI dr wants me to take liquid ferrous sulfate 3 times per day and a chewable prenatal vitamin plus iron. Does anyone know where I could buy these? Is anyone else on them. He said they would be easier absorbed in these forms. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Try VitaminShoppe or GNC (GNC.com), or many health food stores. You can most likely find them at ANY local drug store (CVS/JEWEL/RITE-AID/WAL-GREENS). You could even find a multivitamin (if you don't get the prenatal ones... not sure why Dr. would prescribe that one)... but you can get ANY multi-vitamin in a CAPSULE (liquid inside) form, that is the preferred method for people with UC or CD- easily absorbed. Ferrous Sulfate is among other forms of Iron supplements to help with anemia. It MAY cause upset stomach if taken without food. Some people in this forum have said that they take it without food and with orange juice (vitamin C helps break it down). If you're unsure of the right iron for you, ask a Pharmacist at the Drug Store.... There's probably around 4 different types they should be carrying.... good luck!!
