Advice:
Need to Gain Weight

I'm desperately trying to gain weight fast, to get my doctor off my back. :) I'm trying to get healthy enough to get back to college in the fall.

Trouble is, my appetite isn't the greatest, and the more I eat, the more bloated and sensitive my stomach gets. So I need to find healthy, fattening foods that are gentle on angry tummies. It's harder than I thought. Anyone have any ideas besides drinking Boost and Ensure?

" Zeldy,

Try adding a high calorie (protein-type drink) to your new dieting... such as:

http://www.gnc.com/product/index.j...

or

http://www.gnc.com/product/index.j...

I used to use these back in the day (my pre-Crohn's days)... when I used to work out a lot.... "

" I would not recommend Boost or Ensure, they are full of poison...I would try SupliMed Substi-Meal, http://www.suplimednutrients.com/ , 1-800-223-2610. It tastes good and has tons of vitamins and minerals in it. It helps me to not feel so weak as well. "

" KPatience,

"full of poison"?? Where did you hear that?

If you're referring to the 'diet' version of the supplement drinks, they do have the artificial sweetener, but in small amounts.

If you can provide any information to back that up about Ensure, I would greatly appreciate it! Because I do drink Ensure to get additional vitamins in my diet.

Thanks "

" Sorry, my opinion about the "poisons" in the Ensure and Boost. They are full of man-made chemicals, etc. that are not good for our bodies. The Suplimed drink I am suggesting is made with more natural ingredients.... "

" 'made with more natural ingredients' doesn't mean it's 100% natural, or 100% good for you either.... "

" I am pretty sure I stated that these were my own opinions, which I am entitled to. I also did not say it is 100% good for you or natural, however, if you take the 2 minutes to click on the link and go to ingredients it is a much healthier choice than Boost (in my opinion). "

" KPatience,

Don't take it personal... it's always a choice of picking one of the lesser of two evils... "

" I agree with kpatience- I was using all three of those drinks.Ensure, Boost and the Suplimed-Substimeal. I have since stopped the boost and ensure because they actually did not agree with my stomach. The suplimed-substimeal is excellent. It tastes so good! One serving maintained my weight, and now 2-3 servings a day is starting to put pounds on me. I cannot believe it, I am so excited! Nothing helped me gain weight before with my Crohn's. It is also easier on my stomach, just be sure to space out your servings through out the day to avoid bloating. I highly recomend suplimed-substimeal. Give it a try! "
