I am 181.4 pounds. That feels good to say. Thanks to my recent week-long hiking trip, not great food on the trip, and continuing to exercise upon return, I've lost about 5 pounds in about 10 days. Ahh. Now, in the scheme of things, I have a ways to go, but it's a start. I feel like I've only recently entered the age of the frustrated weight-loss adult...for so many years, I could more o...
I'm back! Phew. In the last week, I've spent 48 hours on 6 separate planes, 10 hours in buses, and 5 days of unbelievably spectacular hiking throught he Patagonian Andes. Wow. That is one short, intense vacation. OK, that's alot of numbers. I'll just say this: I ran again this AM. Prolly 4-5 miles, taking me about 45 minutes. Less sore this AM, feeling less awkward, which fortunately shows how easy it is for me to slip back into a health routine (still, it's always easier to fall out). Anyway, I ran, then I ate a waffle (wife just got a new waffle maker...couldn't say no), then weighed mysel...
I got a great run in this morning. I haven't measured it exactly, but I'm guessing I ran about 4-4.5 miles in about 42 minutes. What was most surprising was that even after I felt exhausted and stopped at 40 minutes, I then immediately got my wind back and ran all the way home (quite fast, I might add). Perhaps I was propelled by my guilt at eating french fries off of my wife's and my fr...
