I just had this procedure done on Thurs.: as of today, Saturday, I feel totally wiped out and did not anticipate the effect it would have on my system. Is this normal? I think that either the dyes used are somewhat toxic, or that the diuretic that I have been put on is affecting my feelings of well being. I am taking benicarHCT and wonder how others are faring with this medication.............

Have a talk with your doctor about this. It could be medication or other minor problems. I have had 5 or 6 of those procedures done over the last 6 years or so. Will probably have another one done soon. I have had no problems recovering form them. Usually they keep me overnight at the VA hospital in West Haven, CT and let me go the next day with warning about over doing things for the next few days. So talk to your doctor. Matter of fact, because we are dealing with the heart, we should always talk to the doctor if anything seems out of wack. I need to discuss a swelling in my ankles with my doctor in November when I see him.

I'm sorry you're feeling bad. My husband had the same procedure last Oct to stent a 95% blockage. I remember him feeling pretty wiped out at first. And more mental then anything else after that. Being a pretty young guy he had a hard time getting his head around what had went down. He was an emotional mess. His was definately more of a mental wipe out. I agree on asking your doctor any questions you have. Take care of yourself!
