Recovery after surgery book?

I have a friend whose husband just had a successful quadruple bypass surgery.

She is desperate to know what she should do and have a reference to look at. She knows as a caretaker she will have a lot of responsibilities.

Can anyone reccomend a good book with easy reading to a regular non reader that she or I can pick up?

Thanks for any help.

" Hi, I just had 2 stents put in in August. The stent operation is not nearly as invasive as open heart surgery.
I have not seen any reference except what my hospital rehab gave me. I recommend asking your husband's doctor to ok rehab. My rehab has 4 nurses that are knowledgeable.
I hope your husband is on all of the drugs to keep the arteries open, and if possible go to rehab for cardio exercises when he is able and his diet should change to almost a vegan diet and very little salt.
You probably feel like a leaf in a fast moving stream, I know I do. But I am learning and adapting as I must. It really changes both of your lifestyles. I do a lot of reading on line about coronary artery disease, google it and you will find out a lot. I hope your husband had the operation before he had heart damage, I was lucky with no damage. I don't know much about this problem but am trying to learn. If you want you can contact me. Best of luck bh "

" Try going to Borders and look for the following books:

OPEN HEART COMPANION by Maggie Lichtenberg PCC

ALL ABOUT HER BYPASS SURGERY (Paperback0 by Richard Trahair.

THE CARDIAC RECOVERY HANDBOOK: THE COMPLETE GUIDE by Paul Kligfiedl

THE CARDIAC RECOVERY COOKBOOK by M. Laurel Cutlip.

I hope these might be able to help you. "
