I have a long history of heart problems starting at age 30 with my first heart attack....a stent was placed. A year later i had another heart attack with yet another stent placed. 2 years later i had a quad bypass. All went well until a couple months ago when i had 2 more stents placed. I am having periods of chest pain that feels like my heart attacks. I had all the test ran and the Cardio says that there is an are on the front of my heart that may be blocked. But he was unsure. The 5 vessels that i had done only 2 took . Now when i go to the ER for CP they wave it off. This si a small commuinty with very few MDs. I am worried that i am going to have another heart attack.. I live 1 hour form a major city and was wondering if the next time i had chest pain if i should not go to the ER there. Nitro helps the pain but does not relieve it. WHat should i do?

are you on imdur? That helps me a lot. I was 30 when I had my first heart attack too! I had to have emergency quad bypass. I'm now on 27 different meds a day but they ARE working! Have you gone to the Cleveland clinic at all? I'm in FL but I fly up there yearly and have ALL the BIG tests done that aren't done down here. They ARE the number 1 heart hospital in the world!!! My surgeon down here wont touch me anymore..He told me he'd already done for me what he could and to go home and just enjoy what I have left...I wasn't ready to die so my cardiologist here sent me to Cleveland. So if I were you...get your meds under control and think about making a trip to Cleveland. I see dr. Franco there...he's kinda rough around the edges..he doesn't sugar coat ANYTHING but he is an amazing dr.! And he WILL find you the help you need.

Hi Sully,
There doesn't seem to be a lot of people here but you haven't replied yet. I think what Niki said was a good idea if you can do it. I haven't had a heart attack but I have had stents put in twice due to chest pain. Living so far away from a hospital can be very frightening. Have you asked your Doc about this? Firemen are usually equipped with medical equipment also if there are any close to you.

You have to go to where the best care is available, there are no two ways about it! A night away once in a while might make traveling a lot easier on your system. I hope you are looking into this as I speak! Good luck!
