A friend had a stent fitted in his main artery successfully on 8th June (it was 94% blocked) but he is still feeling very unwell and thinks it is due to his medication. Please can anyone help? He is taking the following:
Ranitidine 300 mg twice a day
Clopidogrel 75mg once a day
Simvastatin 40 mg once each evening
Ramipiril 5 mg once a day
One aspirin a day.

He was taking Nicorandil 10 mg once a day and Atenolol 50 mg once a day but they have been stopped.

He has recently developed a very red nose for no reason and he also has very painful sores on his bottom for which he has been given Clovate Crema 30 grammes which doesn't seem to make any difference. He has no energy and sleeps a lot more which is not normal for him. He is not receiving aftercare from the hospital and his own doctor is negligent in my opinion - he said that if the tablets were not working to stop taking them.

Please can anyone help with advice? The man's wife is a very close friend of mine and she is despairing about how to help him.

Thank you so much.

" The only suggestion I can make to you is have your friend tell his doctor about his condition. My doctors all tell me that if I notice any little change, tell them. I recently noticed a slight swelling in my left ankle. I will tell my primary doctor about this when I see him in November. The doctor needs to check your friend over. His medicine may be the problem. I take a beta blocker and the dosage I was one (1 twice daily) was too much....I was listless and always tired. He cut it in half and I am fine now. Always tell your doctor...always. Only they can check and find out. Best of luck to your friend. "

" I had 2 stents placed in August this year, and I feel really good. Your friend needs to see his doctor and insist he find out what is wrong. He should be feeling better and stronger by now. "
