First of all I don't want the pros and cons of quiting smoking to sound like a reason to start lighting up again, I don't think I would do that or would want to.I am trying to find a rational explanation as to what the combination of post heart attack meds and quiting smoking is really doing to me/us . The symptoms are just horrible .I have such bad dry mouth I really don't know if the remainder of my teeth are going to last very long .They are quite sensitive to both temperature and texture of food . I also have a very dry throat and eat sucrose free lozenges all day everyday (Fishermans) . My doctor has not made any attempts to help rid me of these ailments and I am wonderng if anyone else out there experiences the same discomforts or other problems with heart meds ?

I have extreme dry mouth. there is a spray for dry mouth that does help. I have also found that a room humidifer at night helps also. As to the teeth you might try the sycenidine toothpaste. I tried changing meds but no help. It does get a little better as your body adjusts to the meds. Hope this helps
