I imagine you've already done alot of reading already ... this is the only thing I could come up with that was significant other than betablockers to keep the heart calm and beating slower to make it last longer : Alcohol ablation is a type of nonsurgical treatment for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. It involves injecting alcohol down a small branch of one of the heart arteries to deaden the extra heart muscle. This allows the extra heart muscle to thin out without having to cut it out
Please use this posted forum below from med help to seek out answers ...you will find many Q and A about cardiomyopathy and if you cannot find something in your interest you can ask your own question in which a medical profesional or doctor randomly from anywhere in te world will eventually answer your question . I don't usually post this link but I think your situation is a little too serious to ignore . I hope the link helps and best wishes to you and your husband . I myself had an MI 9 months ago so I am familiar with heart meds but generally the CHD community on CD is quite quiet . CHD (coronary heart disease ) people seem to be quiter and more kept to them selves than other communities . surgically.http://www.medhelp.org/HealthTopics/Cardiomyopathy.html
