I am 32 years old and I was born with Tricuspid Atresia. I've had 6 open heart surgeries to replace my valve. Due to the reason if clotting or I out grew it. I recently found out that I have Cirrhosis of the liver due to the pressure from my heart. I'm now facing a possible heart and liver or just heart transplant. I'm freaking out...
Has anyone been where I'm at? I don't know what to think or do. Do I ask to get on a list for a heart before my liver gets worse and I need both or I'm to weat to get either? Do I do as doctors are suggesting and montitor my liver for the next year and see where it takes me?? I'm lost, scared and freaking out. I don't want to show worry becuase I don't want my loved ones to worry. God knos they have worried enough over the years... Advice, help, suggestions, I'll take it all,, Thanks in advance. Hi Lena,
My name is Melissa I live in Gilbert, Az and I also have Tricuspid Atresia w/Cirrhosis of the liver. I have had 4 open heart surgeries at the Mayo in M.N. Last year I was told I needed a heart/liver transplant.I was freaking out just like you. I went through all the testing in Pittsburgh and I am NOT sick enough. Which was a good/bad thing for me. I would love to talk to you cause I feel I am the only person who knows how I feel. LOL You can e mail me at honeybee20072@yahoo.com melissa

I have never experienced what you are going through but I have worked a lot with people with heart disease. It is always scary and you have every right to be scared. However, that isn't going to really help the situation.
The thing that will is learning about your condition. I would follow your doctor's orders if they feel that it is safe to monitor your liver for a year. The liver can regenerate some probablyright now the one thing you really want is hard and firm answers...unfortunately that's not available. Everybody takes a different path. Try to keep your spirits up and I will help you anyway that I can, Diane
