Do doctors forbid use of Viagra/Cialis?

Ever since my cardiologist fixed a blocked artery with a stent 10 years ago, he has forbidden me from using Viagra/Cialis. This is particularly bothersome for me because I have also underwent a radical proectimy procedure which usually leaves the patient impotent. My doctor says Viagra may cause low blood pressure when mixed with some meds and causes death. He recommends the pump, the needle or Yohimbe. Would appreciate any thoughts on the matter. No, I do not use Nitrates and have never had angina.

But is you aren't on nitrates, then ask him again, because I think it can be used with some of the other drugs like beta blockers and calcium channel blockers. I'm not sure... I'm not a doctor... but ask him why, it can't hurt :)
