I hope this is the site for heart probs with kids. My 11 day old gr.son was born with what they described as a "hole in his heart". We were told it was okay and would likely heal on its own. My DIL who developed CHF (congestive heart failure) during her last tri-mester, left me a phone message that the baby is not doing well and will have surgery tomarrow. They are en-route to hospital and I can't reach them. Anyone with experience on this and what the heck is it?

I had a hole in my heart ( atrial septal defect) that was repaired in 1969, I'm now 49 and the hole is still closed. There a two halves to the heart one that pumps in and one out. The hole may be in the wall between the two. BUT I'm not sure if there are other types of holes in the heart. Best of luck to you and your family

I was born with a condition called Tetrallogy of Fallot which means 4 main things wrong with the heart. One of the main things is a hole in the heart! I would know more on how to help you with this if i new what kind of probles it was ? i am and have always ben facinated with the heart and i know about almost all the heart conditions!!
