I am a Northern NJ Photographer who wants to use my passion for Photography for a good cause. Many loved ones in my life have fought (and lost) their own battles with cancer. For a long time, I've tried to come up with a way to give back and help those with cancer. That's why I am offering my services to anyone who is currently battling cancer or is a cancer survivor free portraits of themselves (also willing to include family/friends in the portrait session). There are no catches or gimmicks involved! You will also receive a (low resolution) CD of edited photos, chosen by the photographer, from your session.
** Your photo(s) could also possibly appear in an upcoming inspirational Photography Book that I am working on - with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society!** I am looking for men, woman, and children of all races, ethnic groups, ages and forms of cancer to "model" for this very special book. I am from the Northrn NJ area but would be willing to travel to surrounding Counties as well. Although, I am asking for a travel stipend for any location approximately over 30 minutes away from Morristown, NJ. Also willing to travel to NYC, South Jersey and parts of PA for a small travel stipend as well. If you or someone you know has cancer or is a brave cancer survivor and is interested in having their portraits taken and possibly being featured in a Photography book, please contact me. I like your spirit! We should talk... I also want to give back and Ironically, I was in the process of starting a foundation/non-profit called 'back in the saddle' when I got diagnosed. I am 9 months into this adventure and just finished chemo 2 months ago.
You can check my business site under the " about us" to see what I was planning. There is already something similar called " look good feel better" so I sort of dropped the idea, but I went as a patient and their party really fell short of feeling anything but a cancer victim with a bad wig. I m in California so, perhaps I will take you up on a portrait when I come back East with my daughters. MPNC

Thanks for the reply :) I would be honored to take your portrait. This project will be atleast a year long thing so you have plenty of time to hop over to the East Coast to get your portrait taken! :) Any ideas on where else I could get the word out about this? How do I find your business page? I looked in your profile on here but didn't see a link to it :( We should totally talk though! I'd love to hear your ideas and I've done some charity work with different cancer related organizations in the past so maybe (hopefully) I could help. ~Cindy

Hi - I am probably the person here who is geographically closest to you. I think this is a GREAT idea, but I don't want my portrait taken or used as I am very private and have a rather public job. What I suggest, besides posting on sites like this, is to maybe contact the Wellness Communities & Gilda's Clubs in the area. There are several in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
