I have black and blue toe nails, cold feet, numb front half of my feeties... It seems to have gotten worse, not better. Anyone have a treatment? Should I be concerned about what seems like a lack of circulation?

" I still have feet problems and hand problems, I just hope it goes away. If not i will talk to my Dr to see if there is anything we can do. Do you take a walk each day, I think walking helps. "

" Oh boy... nothing helps:-((
I have neuropathy both in my hands and feet. I am taking vitamines (B1 B12), exercise a lot - no improvement.
I already tortured my husband (nephrologist), his buddy (neurologist) and no solution so far. We have to wait until the side effect wears off. "

" can't really help other than to say what you need is a cure for heavy metal poisoning as that is what is causing the neuropathy, it's the platinum in the oxi that causes it. So if you can find a way to speed up removal of heavy metals from your system that might help. "

" Thanks for responding everyone. I will shoot an e mail to my doc.
I ll start doing some research. My feet go from white to blue to red to normal... I m a little freaked out... Does anyone lose their toes from this stuff? It has been so long since the oxy, I am shocked. Xeloda must cause some of this?

Yes, I do walk.. I was Icig them for the bone spur... could that have made it worse?

I know, I know.. time to at least bring the doc in.

" Hi there MPNC--- Yes, if you were on Oxi, icing your feet would almost certainly aggravate the neuropathy. Keep us posted, it will be interesting to hear what your dr. has to say. The bottoms of my feet periodially feel like sandpaper is being used on t hem. With best wishes for a speedy resolution to your situation -- CC "

" My feet feel like someone put piles of wet sand into my socks and shoes. My fingers hurt when I type, try to button something ,,,,,, and sometimes for no reason at all. Actually, both hands and feet have gotten much worse in the 7 weeks since chemo ended. :o( "

" I was told it get's worse before it gets better so don't panic too much that the neuropathy is not immediately getting better after chemo.

I was also told that it can take up to 3 years to completely go away. I tried to make sure that I wore gloves when I was doing manual stuff and got a soft touch keyboard for the computer which helped a bit. "

" I'm a year past treatments and still have issues with my feet. My hands have gotten better with exercises and stretching. I have heard that it could take a long time to recover with the feet. Not good news for me because I am a total outdoors person and this puts a damper on my hiking. But... I'll do what I can and enjoy it while I have it!

Hang in there everyone. "

" I have it too, especially the feet. Massage has helped me. But I need to constantly do it daily. The hands have, and they have improved a lot, but must bendover more lol. "
