Well, I had my first symptoms at Thanksgiving and was sick on Christmas. I had my visit with the gastro on New Years Eve and got my colonoscopy and dx on Jan. 2nd. My birthday was in the middle of those days.
NOW.... every holiday has been right after disconnect. Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and now 4th of July. I dread tomorrow's chemo but want to be DONE! Four more, counting tomorrow, but I'm dreading it so much......... Do you dread each treatment? I had one friend say she was anxious to have each treatment because she knew it was killing any roaming cancer cells but I think I just worry about my side effects and dread feeling so tired for 3 or 4 days (or more). Hey Diane, think of how special those holidays will be next year yeah. Oh so special. I looked forward to each treatment. Hated it when the countdown was interrupted due to low cell counts. I was crossing those treatments off the calendar and couldn't wait to cross the next one off.
Hey those side-effects will pass (well, except for the neuropathy, that may take a little longer), but damn that's a small price to pay for your life. Chemo tomorrow, then FOUR more. Then THREE more, then TWO more, then ONE more, then PARTY AT DIANE'S. You are doing GREAT. Coogee xxx

I am new to treatment as you know Diane, yet I dread it as well. Mine is not till a week from today and I am already nervous. Let;s keep each other's spirit up by thinking of our goals, to beat this beast!!!

Coogee couldn't have said it better. Yeah I have the irritating neuropathy, but at least I'm alive to feel it! Hang in there my friend...you are almost done. Don't feel bad about the holidays, YOU are still here!!! Much love and prayers to you...Survivor :)

Legal Holidays are so overrated ; )
Yes, I dread every treatment... and now every pill... I vascilate between thinking this is killing the enemy and felling like chemo is the enemy... and then you read about someone that died and the enemy becomes clearly cancer. I m sorry you are having anxiety about going to your treatment. I m right behind you... I finish in August. Try and focus on that holiday! We can make our own holidays! Celebrate all the little victories!

Dianne, I know you feel like those holidays have been ruined, because I felt like that too. I had treatments once a week for 52 weeks. I missed out on alot of holidays, weddings and my son's birthdays. But I have spent the last 16 years enjoying each and every one of them, to include my granddaughter's birth and birthdays! This time I know that I may be missing more, but hopefully this time around chemo will work twice as good and I can have 32 years of holidays and maybe even see my granddaughter get married and have her own kids! Keep your chin up and keep moving onward and upward!

I know, it seems strange not to be planning cookouts and get togethers right now. I am in the middle of treatment 2, and I envy you your place at number 8. Thanks everyone. I got a call that i needed to come TODAY for tx due to July 3rd being a legal holiday.
It went okay. They doped me up really well and I only had a few splotches. This was treatment 9! I have 3 more to go!

Glad to hear treatment went better then expected. I'm on pump now will disconnect tomorrow. They took me off Eloxatin so I have not had as many side effects. Not sure how I will feel Sat but that's OK. I'm down 7 5 to go!!! I look forward to treatment was diapppointed when one had to be canceled because of Low white count!! Your doing great!! It will soon be over!!!!
