does the chemo work again or is it time to move on?

my husband had stage 3 that progressed to 4 and now has had growth since his last scan, his oncologist talked about continuing his regimen but can it really work again? she has already given up on him, I don't trust her and he has another doc wanting to try immunotherapy

" It's one of those unanswerable questions, would the cancer have grown even more if he hadn't been doing chemo!!

It's going to be a quality versus quantity of life question. "

" i think the answer to your question, varies from person to person. I dont think an oncologist would offer it unless they thought there would be a benefit. Plus your body has to be strong enough to cope with the rigours of chemo which the oncologist must think is a possibility. But i think it comes down to what the person whose having treatment can cope with. I was stage 3, but by the end of the chemo, i could also understand why some people who are terminal say enough is enough. As Mark says it can come down to quality of life versus quantity. I think only the cancer sufferer can truly decide. best wishes either way xx "
