Ok remember I do not have an outright diagnosis yet. My question is what and when to tell family and friends. I don't want people freaking out for no reason BUT I also don't want them resenting that I didn't tell them sooner either.

I have told my best friend and the sister that I am closest to. Of course my husband also knows. I have an elderly father, 6 sisters and brothers and 7 kids, grandkids and one great grand daughter who all live quite a distance from me.

I find myself worrying more about others than I am about myself. I am eerily calm.

Any help would be appreciated.

God Bless
Joanne

" Joanne: when you you get the biopsy results and diagnosis? I was just dianosed myself and had t tell family and friends. It is a shock to them to hear. If you diagnosis is only days away, I would wait for the facts because believe me when I tell you they are going to want the details. If for some reason your diagnosis is weeks away, you may want to prepare them now for the posiblity.

I know what you mean about worrying most about your family. Me too. My husband and my four little dogs exspecailly. they need me. The others are married and have thier own families....

God be with you as you go through this ordeal I will add you to my prayer list.

" Hi TL;
Once I knew the diagnosis I told my daughters, my brother, aunts & uncles, etc. I notified people at work and so on... Be prepared for different reactions from those you notify.
Good Luck

" I will get the biopsy results thursday when I see the surgeon. Still I anticipate having a cat scan and other testing to get more information. It may be awhile before I know what it all means in terms of treatment. For sure I have to have surgery to remove the large polyp.

Being proactive I have already begun some of the things I had planned to do and not gotten around to. I placed a horse yesterday and I am downsizing my kennel.

I'm also doing some writing which is very theraputic for me:)

Thanks for the help all
God Bless
Joanne "
