Just got the resultsof my biopsy and it turns out that I have anul cancer, not rectal cancer. This is good because they don't treat anul cancer with surgery, I will be doing chemo and radiation only. am relieved because was so afraid of ending up with a bag.
Am I still in the right support group?

" HI Scobb, there is no separate forum for colon/ rectal and anal cancer. Anal cancer is caused by the human papilloma virus, as is cervical cancer, and isn't treated the same way colon and rectal cancer is treated. You're quite rare. Only 700 cases a year, if I remember correctly from the Farrah info. "

" Scobb, glad to hear you already have the results. It's also good to know you won't need surgery. I'll continue to pray for your full recovery. Stay in touch. "

" Thanks to all of you who have so kindly responded to my post. If you all don't mind having me, I would very much like to stay in this support group. You all make me feel welcome. I don't believe there is a support group for anal cancer because it is so rare. "
