Discussion:
Is a 3.0 GPA really that bad?

I will be graduating from community college next year with a 3.0 GPA. (That's my goal at least.) I had a lot of emotional/family problems my first year so did really poorly then. Could I still transfer into an at least OKAY school? I know I won't get into an Ivy League school or anything, but could I get into a school that doesn't totally suck?

" Ha! No, not at all! I have a 3.0 and I go to a university! College isn't easy, and most jobs don't care about your GPA anyway. Mostly if you just get your diploma.

You'll get into a great college! Good Luck! "

" I agree w/ life is beautiful a 3.0 is good GPA for graduating and transferring to continue your education. Not to mention that at most schools a 3.0 is a minimum GPA requirement to be able to apply for graduation.

Good Luck! :D "

" I would be proud to get my GPA back up to a 3.0 (I'm sooo close, too). I definitely think you can get in to a school... is a State school not sucking? Because I know that many require a 2.5. You're well above that.

3.0 is a B average, definitely acceptable at many schools. "

" SweetPea09, maybe it's just where I'm from, but most schools I know of require a 2.0, not a 3.0 for graduation ;-) 2.0 is like a C average.
(1.0 D, 2.0 C, 3.0 B, 4.0 A) "

" You'll defiantly get in ^_^ I know my accredited university accepts people coming from High school with 2.0's. they accept everyone here but once they get here they make them work really had. So if you can't get into any university with a 3.0 then start looking up schools here in Kentucky ^_^ "
