I felt really bad...

I am getting my 2nd bachelor, so basically I've finished most of my classes, except for the core requirements. I was debating for a year, and finally i decided to leave my totally unrelated job, hoping to finish school ASAP.
I have talked to my academic adviser early the semester, and he recommended me to take two cores, because one of them is really hard. The class indeed needs a lot of time for preparation, I was so stressed out lately that I ended up dropping it. After dropping it, I felt really bad for myself, and I felt bad when I saw the classmates are still in the class. I felt incompetent. when everyone has work and school. I only have one class right now, but I feel more stressed out. This class became my whole life and I felt pressured to do really well. At the same time, i began to wonder if this is the right major for me, I started to think about going back to my old major to find a job, I feel really lost without a job. I want to find someone to talk to, but most of friends are working and they have their own stresses to deal with, also, i am a somewhat reserved person, my family don't talk to me. So basically, besides studying, I just researched alone about career and jobs... i lost hope about a lot of things. Posted on 10/13/09, 12:10 am |

My second semester of college, I was working and in school full time, and on top of that was dealing with anxiety and living with 2 alcoholics. I ended up dropping not ONE class, but ALL of them. Dropping one class really isn't that bad. Who doesn't drop a class at some point?
Anyways, the best way to deal with stress is to talk to a counselor. I started seeing a counselor at my school every week to talk about college stress, what I wanted to major in when I was uncertain, and all kinds of things. It helped A LOT. I don't have many friends, and the ones I do have are also really busy. I can honestly say seeing a counselor changed my life.
