College Stress Support Group

I sent in my advanced room reserve payment but never picked a room and missed the time frame for selecting a room for next year. When a resubmission for students who missed the deadline, from May 1-8, I missed that one as well, however, that Wednesday April 29th, I lost my uncle (who I was *very* close with) and had a final on that Friday, wake and funeral services on Saturday and Sunday, and 2 more finals on that Monday and Tuesday. The last thing I thought about was housing, i was at my end's wit!

I called the office and this monotone woman basically said I can request for a refund and should look for off campus housing. Before any of this, I was going to move in with a friend off campus but dad said no, and i told my friend I don't think I would be able to do it with him. Now I am worried that I won't get a dorm room and basically say, "hey dad, I NEED off campus housing b/c I was a dolt and missed both deadlines." It is bad enough i got in trouble for my grades and when I mouth off and losing my savings/checkbook, so I have tons of marks against me, and I hate to put him on the spot again.

Does anyone have suggestions what to do? If I have to get off campus housing, how can I tell my dad and convince him I will be safe? Am I the only tard with these problems?!
