Advice:
sleeping and stress

Does anyone else have trouble sleeping because of stress? Is there anything that you do to help you sleep better? I've tried sleeping pills but I don't like the way they make me feel the next day so I try not to use them too much. I'm usually doing homework until 11 or later I don't know if that has anything to do with it but even when I do get enough sleep I still feel tired the next day..

" yeah i have major insomnia issues, mostly due to stress. I have to take pills sometimes to sleep, but I'm learning better stress coping mechanisms to help me relax more.

Have you tried melatonin? It's a herb (i think...mineral...something like that) that you can get at most pharmacies. It's a very natural way to help you sleep, and often comes with way less side effects.

Also try good "sleep hygiene" such as no caffeine late in the day, only using your bed for sleep (or sex), turning off the tv and computer before bed and winding down some with a set routine before sleep, etc. "

" I too cannot sleep due to stress, at this point I sleep maybe 3-4 hours a night and it is taking its toll. I find it relaxing to turns down the lights, no music or any noise, read a book and drink a cup tea (celestial seasonings, tension tamer or sleepy time) before bed. "
