Oh, and College is in a different city, so how do I get a job in a city 30/40 miles away?

Have you tried contacting the school you want to go to about possible job openings they have in the school? Look online at what businesses are in the area and start contacting them about possible job openings. What I did before I moved away for grad school is contacted professors in the program I wanted to apply to to see if they had any internships available. Now they were unpaid but I can imagine that you can also search for paying jobs/internships while living elsewhere as well. If you really want to go to college you will find a way to make it work..Im not saying it will be easy but If you want it badly enough it will be worth it. Good Luck!

yeah most colleges have a work study.
i think it mostly applies for people planning to live on campus though, so if you're not you might want to look elsewhere. if you really dont want to live on campus you could try it just for a year and make some friends then move in with a roomate. or you could do that just by making friends at the college but i think its harder to if youre commuting since youre not completely involved in the community, you know? hm. i made good money canvassing for CFPA but its a really hard job. anyway i hope this helped.
