Can I take Flu Shot after SJS Syndrome

Almost 1.5 years ago, docs told me not to take any drugs unless absolutely necessary after bad case of Stevens Johnson Syndrome summer 2008 due to plaquenil for arthritis.
I did not take a flu shot last year because I was still so sick after the SJS. I have no medical insurance so consulting a doc is not an option. I usually get my flu shots at drug store setups. Would really like to take the seasonal flu shot but wondering about the wisdom of it post SJS. I am not sold on taking the H1N1 shot yet, just considering seasonal shot. I have a plane ticket to fly to Houston mid-October. Daughter there just called me and told me both she and hubby just got checked today and have H1N1 and are very sick. Grandkids not yet showing symptoms. That may probibit the trip. But primary concern is seasonal flu since hubby has to spend a lot of time each month at hospital and medical facilities where exposure is regular. He got his seasonal flu shot today.
