Finding an address

Hey I am trying to find an address to my ex so I can serve the divorce papers. I know the city he lives in. The courts say family or friends., Well I tried his family and they gave him my number. We had a horrible marriage. He was physically abusive. Anyway, I contacted him through email and he is being manipulative. He wants control and wont give me any way to serve the papers. I found his probation officer but she cant give me his address. She said she would talk with him and the result was a nasty email from the ex. I have no clue on how to serve the papers without an address and without putting out money. I am on a tight budget. Any ideas?

" In any State you can publish a notice in the local newspaper.

Plus you are probably eligible to get a free Lawyer but in that you would have to investigate if you are eligible or not.

A link for the State of Oregon is here below:
http://www.oregonlawhelp.org/OR/sho...

THEN click the link where it says = How do I serve the divorce papers if I cannot find my spouse?

Or just link this = www.OregonLawHelp.org

This might seem like a lot of work, and maybe an extra $100 but it surely it would be better than chasing the man down. "

" get a second job or whatever you have to do to pay to get it done. You can also in some states have papers served by a individual and there are things online like Intellus to do search by phone and email addresses. Not easy for people to hide now days. Just make sure you are not enjoying the attention even bad attention is sometimes better than none at all. "

" What about the local police department in his area? I work for a law firm in NYS, and we use the local sheriff's office for service of papers on people. We give them their last known address, and they take it from there. Also, a private process server would be able to do it as well. They'll track him down and serve him. It will cost money, but shouldn't be more than about $100, or maybe a little more. "

" If you got an email from him its easy unless he is smart and been using random IP address.

Get IP address of the email .. Not sure which email account is he using and find the location.

All others reading this post no i am not a hacker or a manipulative person. Since i am in Information Technology i learned to secure my system - I had to get smarter due to a lawsuit from my ex ( who used manipulation, internet and law as a tool to mess me ) an email became evidence - therefore the search of ipaddress and what not.

Note - Anything on internet is saved and can be retrieved. Be careful with your wording emails or text messages it can be used against you or it can save you as an evidence. "
